1. Introduction
Welcome to the ICT-4MRPQ Mobile Application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to these Privacy Terms (“Terms”). If you disagree, please don’t use the App.
2. Authorized Users and Access
Eligible Users
This App is intended for authorized users within participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) enrolled in the ICT-4MRPQ project. Authorized users include:
i. Academic supervisors assigned by your HEI
ii. Students participating in research projects under the ICT-4MRPQ framework
Account Creation
Students and supervisors do not create individual accounts. Your HEI manages account creation and provides you with login credentials.
Impersonation and Unauthorized Access
Impersonation and unauthorized access to the App or accounts are strictly prohibited.
3. Definitions
i. HEI: Higher Education Institution
ii. UGC: User Generated Content
iii. Authorized Use: Accessing and using the App for its intended purpose within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework.
4. User Data Collection
4.1 Essential Information
We collect your name, academic affiliation, and access level (student or supervisor) provided by your HEI for account identification and project participation.
4.2 Usage Data
We anonymously track app usage data in the project scope for app improvement and project monitoring. This may include timestamps, actions taken, and features used. Your individual identity cannot be inferred from this data.
4.3 Transparency
We will not collect any other data without your explicit consent and will clearly communicate any changes to data collection practices.
5. Data Security
5.1 Industry Standards
We utilize industry-standard security measures like encryption and data backups to protect your information.
5.2 Risk Awareness
While we strive for complete security, no online platform is 100% risk-free. We inform you promptly of any security breaches.
6. Data Sharing
6.1 No Third-Party Sharing
As our app does not use ads, we will not share your personal data with any third-party companies for advertising purposes. We may share anonymized, aggregated data within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework for research, statistical analysis, or educational purposes, ensuring no individual can be identified.
6.2 Research Collaboration & Education
We may share limited personal data with other authorized ICT-4MRPQ project participants solely for project-related purposes and collaboration, adhering to strict data protection agreements.
7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
7.1 Personalized Experience
Since our app does not use ads, it does not utilize cookies or similar tracking technologies for advertising purposes. However, we may use temporary session cookies to facilitate basic app functionality, which are automatically deleted when you close the app.
7.2 Control & Opt-Out
You can manage your cookie preferences through your device settings.
8. User Control and Responsibilities
8.1 Data Access and Correction
You cannot directly access or correct your personal information within the App. However, you can request access and correction of your information through your respective HEI contact.
8.2 Authorized Use and UGC
Use the App only for its intended purpose within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework. Maintain responsible conduct and refrain from:
i. Posting or transmitting illegal, harmful, or offensive content
ii. Disrupting app functionality or violating Project regulations
iii. Sharing research or project information outside the designated scope
9. Account Deletion
Please note: As account creation is managed by your HEI, you cannot directly delete your account through the App. If you wish to have your account deleted, please contact your respective HEI.
10. External Links
We provide links to external websites, but we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before visiting.
11. Data Retention
11.1 Active Participation
Your data will be retained for the duration of your active participation in the ICT-4MRPQ project.
11.2 Account Closure
Upon project completion or withdrawal, your personal information will be securely deleted within a reasonable timeframe by your HEI, except for data required for legal or technical reasons. We will clearly communicate specific data retention periods.
12. Children’s Privacy
This App is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to Privacy Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you through the App or email about any significant changes.

Welcome to the ICT-4MRPQ Mobile Application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before continuing. If you disagree with any of these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Definitions
i. HEI: Higher Education Institution
ii. UGC: User Generated Content
iii. Authorized Use: Accessing and using the App for its intended purpose within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework.
iv. Unauthorized Use: Accessing the App without authorization, creating unauthorized accounts, impersonating others, disrupting the App, or violating laws.
3. Account Creation and Eligibility
i. Account creation is restricted to authorized university personnel within participating HEIs. This includes faculty staff responsible for managing student and supervisor accounts.
ii. To use the App, you must be a registered student or university management representative at one of the participating HEIs.
iii. Impersonation and creation of unauthorized accounts are strictly prohibited.
4. Data Privacy
i. We collect and use your data responsibly in accordance with all applicable data privacy laws and regulations, including the Google Play Privacy Policy. Please see our separate Privacy Policy for detailed information on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights concerning your data.
ii. You can access and manage your data through your HEI contact.
5. Intellectual Property
The App and its content, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, are owned by ICT-4MRPQ or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Modifying, copying, distributing, transmitting, displaying, performing, reproducing, publishing, licensing, creating derivative works from, transferring, or selling any App content or information without our express permission is strictly prohibited.
6. User Conduct
Use the App only for its intended purpose within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework and following these Terms.
Refrain from:
i. Impersonating anyone
ii. Interfering with the App’s functionality
iii. Posting or transmitting illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, privacy-invasive, or racially/ethnically offensive UGC
iv. Attempting unauthorized access to the App or its systems
v. Using the App for commercial purposes without our express written consent
vi. Sharing research or project-related information outside the designated project scope or with unauthorized individuals
vii. Engaging in plagiarism or presenting others’ work as your own
7. Purpose and Restrictions
i. The App facilitates improved research management, communication, and data tracking within the ICT-4MRPQ project framework for authorized students and university staff.
ii. Sharing research or project-related information outside the designated project scope or with unauthorized individuals is strictly prohibited.
iii. Plagiarism detection and prevention are integral to the App’s purpose. Submitting plagiarized content or claiming others’ work as your own constitutes a violation of these Terms.
8. Account Deletion
You can request account deletion through your respective HEI contact.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
The App is provided “as is” and without any warranties, express or implied.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We will not be liable for any damages arising out of your use of the App, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. However, we will not be liable for data breaches resulting from our own negligence.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms will be governed by and construed under the laws of Uganda. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration under the Arbitration Rules of the Uganda Arbitration Center.
The arbitration shall be conducted in English and shall be held in Kampala, Uganda.
11. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us concerning the App and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.
